A bottled Manhattan cocktail from Jefferson's bourbon created in collaboration with the editors of Esquire magazine! It's made with 6 year old Jefferson's Kentucky straight bourbon as well as sweet and dry vermouth (so it's what's known as a 'Perfect' Manhattan) and barrel aged spiced cherry bitters. It's then rested in an oak cask for 90 days. To serve, pour it over ice, stir, then strain into your glass.Ā Ripe aroma of Madeira wine and vanilla extract, which leads to a sharp palate filled with bitter herbs, vermouth and citrus. The finish is clean and lengthy, with soft notes of licorice, oak and root vegetables making the final statement. Not what you may expect from a Manhattan, especially if you're not familiar with the Perfect Manhattan variant that uses both sweet (red) and dry (white) vermouths. The bitters also play their part. Vinous, vanilla, marzipan, cherries, citrus, cardamom, thyme and oak.
