The Carter’s took a unique approach with the fourth batch release. The 2020 Batch 4 release is an 11-year old product that was sourced from MGP. Most interestingly, this is the first high-rye blend the Carter’s have released. This batch yielded 1997 bottles of bourbon that were bottled at 116.8 proof.

Color: Dark Amber
Nose: Notes of ethanol, corn, vanilla, and oak were initially present. After some time in the glass, notes of caramel and butterscotch candy began to appear.
Palate: The first sip had a medium viscosity that was accompanied by intense spice and heat. The second sip elicited a mouth-drying effect that transitioned into notes of pepper, rye spice, and oak. The third sip revealed notes of oak and SPICE.
Finish: The finish was medium to long with a domination oak note. As the finish began to fade, hints of pepper and spice began to appear.
